The Pisang (banana) fan was inspired by hanging bananas sold by fruit vendors in the open-air markets of Indonesia.

These beautifully detailed fans are crafted from carefully sanded and thinned cow hide, and their handles are made from bull horns. Mr. Mujiono, the Fan Man, along with other classically-trained Indonesian artisans make the fans following the traditional art form of Javanese Shadow Puppet Making.
