The Tongkol (tuna) Fan design was inspired by Indonesian fishmongers.

These beautifully detailed fans are crafted from carefully sanded and thinned cow hide, and their handles are made from bull horns. Mr. Mujiono, the Fan Man, along with other classically-trained Indonesian artisans make the fans following the traditional art form of Javanese Shadow Puppet Making.
